LIST: 2020 lgbtq+ ya releases

banner

Happy pride month, lovelies!! I’m carrying on last year’s tradition of compiling all the YA LGBTQ+ releases of the year, which was alternately fulfilling and infuriating. It’s a long list! I always decide to do all the research when I should be working on homework, but whatever, it’s done!

To celebrate Pride 2020 amidst this pandemic, here’s a list of all the LGBTQ+ YA releases in 2020! I’ll spare you the counting and tell you that there’s 130+ books on this list, which is amazing. Also I tried to make this list as thorough as I possibly could!

Much of this list was compiled by Charlotte, who co-runs readsrainbow (a blog dedicated to LGBT media), with Anna. Please go give them a follow! They host monthly book clubs dedicated to LGBT books in addition to reviewing and recommending so many LGBT titles. LGBTQ Reads (run by Dahlia Adler) is another great resource if you’re looking for more books to read as well.

As always, I am only human and I make mistakes. If you see any mistakes here, please let me know, and I’ll amend it as soon as I can! I tried to note representation as specific as possible, but I haven’t read much of this list and it was difficult to glean specific rep from reviews sometimes. Let me know if there’s something on-page that’s not noted here! Also, there are trigger and content warnings for many of these books that I haven’t noted, so please be aware of that.

Also, if you’re going to buy anything off this list, might I suggest buying from a Black-owned bookstore?
